  • Health Journeys   Belleruth Naparstek, LCSW, is a goddess in the field of guided imagery. She  and her colleagues at Healthjourneys.com offer a comprehensive array of guided visualization and relaxation training exercises for a wide range of medical and psychological issues.  The site has many free resources, including brief reviews of current research on the benefits of imagery and other complementary medicine approaches. Health Journeys' audio practices are so beneficial and well-regarded that a number of hospitals and health insurance companies offer HJ guided imagery to their patients.  In fact, Kaiser Permanente provides a selection of free HJ guided imagery practices that anyone can access, including exercises to help with insomnia, anxiety/panic, pain, self-confidence, anger and stress. These audio recordings can be streamed or downloaded as mp3 files. Tip: download the practices you want to try to your phone/computer/player before you need them - it's a lot easier to use something regularly when you can get to it with just a few taps!
